Hello everyone, Hi! I don’t usually greet this way but I am tooo excited that I have to do it this way, in my usual insane way (if you know me personally, with that exaggerating big wave). So why am I so excited? It’s because 1. Exams are done and 2. It’s finally my turn to SUMMER! I absolutely love summer, the energy, the vibes, the sunshine and basically everything about Summer! And what’s more excited is that I will be travelling to a few places this summer. Here’s my first one, #FollowDearPostmanToPhuket!
Talking about Taipei, it’s either food, or food, or FOOD, or maybe some shopping or partying. So as you all know, I have gone to Taipei for a good 7 days and - apparently - have eaten a lot. I have a very small stomach. I may not eat a lot but I get hungry really quickly. I am the kinda animal girlfriends that get totally tamed after I get fed.
Following from the Part I of #FollowDearPostmanToTaipei, here’s the Part II of it! Don’t think I said it last time, but we actually went there for 6 days. That’s how chill we want our trip to be. (Oh, by the way, fun fact, my mum asked me how “chill” is spelt and why everyone is using that word LOL.) Especially for places like Taipei - with nothing really exciting going on - we thought we might as well just chill and enjoy.
So as I said in my previous blog post, I let myself take a lil social media detox during my trip at Taipei 2 weeks ago. No Instagram, no Facebook, no Snapchats but me and food in this peaceful island. And like, it was just so perfect. 6days might not be a long break, but definitely good enough. Without further ado, let’s get into it. Our 3rd #FollowDearPostmanTo, to Taipei Part 1!
Throwback to all the fun times at Singapore with my family last Summer - Good Food, Good Shopping, All Good Times. Honestly since me and my sister have studied abroad, it's been a long time we got to travel together. So all these times have been precious and special. To your surprise, it's actually our first time with our feet on the Singapore land, somewhere so similar to Hong Kong. And everything's so convenient and accessible, no doubt a family travel goal.
Apart from the rambling about Singapore - that I am pretty sure most of you knew already - here's my Singaporean Lookbook! #FollowDearPostmanToSingapore now
Out of the woods we climb up the rocks at SaiKung Geological Park. You may be as surprised as I am right now that we Hong Kong has our own geological park. Right, we do have one and it’s actually one of the largest one in the world. How impressive. It covers an area of 50 km2 across parts of the Eastern and Northeastern New Territories. On September 18, 2011, UNESCO even listed the Geopark as part of its Global Geoparks Network. You can even see the hexagonal volcanic columns along the coast that were formed after years and years of seawater and wind destruction.
Following from the previous Child of Mothernature series in Sydney, how can we not mention our homeland - Hong Kong! DiscoverHongKong here we go!
Clearly Hong Kong has a very different climate from Sydney, and this has become a big challenge for us. The suffocating heat and stuffiness have made hiking extra hard and energy-demanding. Or determination and perseverance are all you really need to overcome that. But, know what it's getting into fall time hiking time now. It’s all gonna worth it. Into the Woods at ShingMun Reservoir.
Throwback to the unforgettable cafes I have been to while I stayed in Sydney - and the reason why I gained 7lb in several weeks. They are nothing but awesome. And there are just too many I wanna bring you guys to. Here’s 5 best ones from the list I tried to narrow down!
Disclaimer: I have to apologise now that you may keep seeing words like awesome/amazing/perfect, but those are just words that come along when I reminisce about the food - and along with the drilling saliva too I am afraid LOL.
