For most people, Hong Kong may be a place of business, hustle and bustle. What most people don't know is that there is a real gem hidden in the heart of this busy city. “It” is not quiet, I guarantee you. Quite the opposite, this place is always busy, always loud and full of “movement”. Yes I am talking about Waterfall bay right below Wah Fu Estate in Hong Kong.
You may think Hong Kong (or most foreigners think) has nothing but skyscrapers, poking through clouds. Yet, in fact Hong Kong has her own gifts from the mothernature sitting just around us. All we need to do is to slow down, look up from your phone and discover. Discover with your eyes and legs but not through your phone. Follow DearPostman to the secret waterfall bay at Pok Fu Lam, just under the Wah Fu Estate.
By the way, this is not a trail, it's a park. But there's a waterfall so if you like them, here ya go. View of Lamma island from the park is nice too. There's a BBQ site if you are so inclined.
How to go: From Hong Kong MTR station's bus terminus (Exchange Square): NWFB 4 and 4X will get you there (Wah Fu Estate) in 30 minutes. Buses run every day, every 20 minutes.
I am not a hiker, but this is truly a beauty. Plus it’s comparatively more accessible than other hiking trails (this is not a trail I know). So why not? Feel it, interact with it and breathe along with it. Put your phone down and get on your legs now.
