こんにちは Kon'nichiwa, from the Postman!
Before I dive into my Tokyo travelogue, some background things first. So at the moment I just finished my summer internships and am very much enjoying my last 35 (and counting) days of summer before I start working formally in September. I am a workaholic, and I love working a lot. But then knowing that I’ll have to wake up every morning at 7am still give me headaches, not even mentioning the almost-inevitable overtime work. Therefore, this last summer has felt particularly special for me. I would like to take a real good break, enjoy my life and focus on what I like. So here I am, in my usual sit at Starbucks in Central, writing while I sip my iced latte (with soy milk). This, is what I called “life”.
What's a better way to enjoy a holiday? Travelling, of course. I believe some of you would have read my Tokyo lookbook already, if you haven't, it's the time now (link here). It's my 7th(?) time to Japan, yet my first time to Tokyo. Surprise, huh? Or to be accurate, I've been to Tokyo, but only for a day in Disneyland. So for the sake of shopping, sushi, Mount Fuji, me and my family have decided to check the Tokyo box.
Good food, shopping, easy transportation, manners, safety, all the reasons you can name when it comes to Why-Tokyo. While it’s true that Japan is such tourist-friendly, it’s also because my family likes it, a lot. Since I believe most of you would have gone to Tokyo, I will keep this travelogue sweet and short.
On our first day, we kicked our trip off with a more natural side of Tokyo. As you will see, the weather was… bad. Mount Fuji’s supposed to be there when the weather’s better. Blame the weather.
Then of course, some shopping time. I don’t know if it’s just me or what, but I am always always fascinated by their vending machines. Japanese never leaves me unsurprised by what they have in vending machines, from coffee, hot food, to toys, and even cameras.
Disneyland, of course. I love it, I love it, I know I have been there for a few times, but I just luffff it. I have to repeat three times because I don’t think photos do them justice. It’s the vibes and people that make this place so enjoyable. It’s either the Winnie the Pooh couple, or the Frozen baby, or the girl in the pro Pirate of the Caribbean outfit. They make sure when you look silly, you all look silly together.
Yeh, me in front of another Disney-version vending machine.
Yes, by now you probably will be wondering where the Mount Fuji was, there's no single hint of the mountain anywhere in the post. Unfortunately, I had been lucky enough (as always) to get a gloomy weather again. The sky was literally blue and sunny the day before I went and after a day, it just decided to pour and swiped grey completely. So apart of myself, I can't think of another unluckier reason to blame. Or, it's just another reason for me to come back again, Tokyo.
