I gotta admit it’s not the best week, and in fact a pretty hard one too, but like I keep telling myself people needa move on, don’t they. Bad memories do not get rid of you, you get rid of them. I also have to admit my multi-tasking wasn’t doing well recently. So may be it’s time to think, think about myself.
Since I was talking about balances just now, here’s the fashion balance - balance between smart and casual. Disclaimer: this isn’t the usual “smart casual” you work place looks for, but some kind of “smart and casual”. Not too “smart”, but with a touch of “casual” in it.
(Totally inspired by my friend, who was trying to handle “smart casual” with a smart shirt and casual slippers.)
#1 Blazer and Skirt
You are catching up with your girls over afternoon drinks today. You are looking for something effortless but still gonna look pretty - just in case - some hot guys come up and say hello.
“Take the skirt that makes you feminine, and that blazer that creates some distance for the game. Play hard to get.”
#2 Blazer and Sneakers
You are attending those presidential Q&A sessions with your relatives during dinner. You don't think you need to dress up, but you know clearly if you don't, they are just gonna kick you in the butt.
"Wear that cropped top and sneakers as if no one cares. Cover it with a blazer, which you are so ready to take off when you say you are just gonna join the other kids."
#3 Cardigan and Slides
You are having a date tonight. Ooooh. A date. You want to look effortless and unintentional, yet pretty enough to make an impression. Passive aggressive they call it.
"Another all white outfit and top it with a side-cut cardigan and storytelling slides. And don't forget a big smile too."
Now you know what to wear for those "smart casual" moments. I cannot take you through those awkward moments but I hope your outfit does make you feel better after all. Jokes.
