So following from the previous post, since there are wayyyy too many photos, we decided to cut out the cafe part to do another separate post. Especially when you are travelling with a bunch of foodies-coffeeaddicts (yeh, Net, it’s you), there’s simply no reason why you don’t do the full review! Here you are the full record of our CafeCrawl! (And a fullfull record of Net’s eating face, you can definitely tell how delicious that it…)
Hands down, Mel is the heaven for cafe-addicts. Not only that they are photogenic, they taste so so so so GOOD. The FOOD is more than AMAZING. It’s the moment when your tummy is ready to explode, but you feel the need to continue eating. Imagine SEX in your tongue. #Legit foodporn
#Hashtag Specialty Coffee & Roasters (rate 4.3)
Address: 113 Hardware Street, CBD, Melbourne, VIC
We were planning to try the famous Hardware Societe but the queue was too long (as expected). So we tried Hash (rated on Zomato 3.2). So so so so good, both their savoury and sweets.
Must try: Summer Waffle, Hash Black Magic
Manchester Press (rate 4.6)
Address: 8 Rankins Lane, CBD, Melbourne, VIC
This is my favourite among all. I have always loved bagels but this, is heavenly. Manchester Press is where there are too many choices you wanna try, but your tummy probably fit that many (maybe yes actually). And it’s perfect when you go with many others and you guys can share many different ones.
Must try: Texas BBQ Pulled Pork with blueberry bagel, Mel's Maple Mayhem
Brother Bada Budan (rate 5: MUST DRINK)
Address: 359 Little Bourke Street, CBD, Melbourne, VIC
The must try coffee. Small shop. Just a stop-by. Yet their flat white definitely takes caffeine to the next level.
Third Wave Cafe (rated 4.0)
Address: Shop 1, 189 Rouse Street, Port Melbourne, Melbourne, VIC
Just a drop-by when we visited Port Melbourne. They’re like the power shot for the hangry us after playing around the beach.
Hammer & Tong (rate 4.5)
Address: Rear 412 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, Melbourne, VIC
Fitzroy! Fitzroy! Fitzroy! Fitzroy’s the artsy area filled with cafes, graffiti and vintage CD shops. We started off our morning in Hammer & Tong rated 4.3 on Zomato. Didn’t let us down.
Must try: Duck egg & candid bacon waffle, Golden Gaytime Milkshake (fyi, I think Golden Gaytime is the Aussie thing and I love it)
Lune Croissanterie (rate 5: MUST EAT)
Address: 113 Rose Street, Fitzroy, Melbourne, VIC
Lune is no doubt the CLIMAX of the entire trip. It’s when we had to put down the cameras just to feel the taste with our tongues. Clearly people start queuing at 6am to get their crossiants, now that you know. THE BEST BEST CROISSANT IN THE WORLD. (Too good that each of us had no choice but to buy 6 back Sydney!) Didn’t get a chance to try some other flavours, but yep, we are going back Mel just to try them out!
3days in Melbourne is definitely not enough. Still a lot of cafes on my checklist! Hope to see you soon, Mel.
