HELLLOOOOOO from the Aussie! Can’t emphasize more how fab life has been recently. Met new friends, reunion with old friends, new sparks, new inspirations, the sunshine, the real blue sky with no clouds, the food, the entire energetic vibes. Everything’s just AWESOMMMMME. And of course, not gonna miss out the appleee of my eye.
Fyi, I will be staying in Sydney for my 5 weeks’ Easter break. And hey, make it a holiday, let’s not mention about exams here, shall we? It’s my fourth time stepping into this country of energy. Once with my family at my 10 and other three with Z nearly once a year. The same place, but always a different mood. Like you are new, yet familiar enough to remember images/things. The bits and fragments of the Sydney airport, Z’s house; where the light switches in the bathroom are located at; the green round laundry basket Z uses. What even warms me up is that, not only that I remember things, people remember me too. The babies ran to welcome me with a hug, amazed me by how much they’ve grown within the year. Z’s friends and family invited me to fam gatherings like I’ve always been part of them. Coming home, I said, it’s like coming home.
LDR makes things unreal especially when they are real. I still wake up in Z’s bed every day wondering if coming to Sydney is real, and then turn to see Z right in front of my eyes which reminds me Yeh, it’s real now. I never want to go to bed, because I know how precious every moment in Sydney is. Every day I open my eyes wide and open, not wanting to waste any minute here, trying to capture as many memories as I can. Every night I close my eyes, replay all the memories of the day, willing to relive the moments, moments that you know, will forever be engraved in the deepest part of your heart. Special things do not necessarily happen in LDR, yet LDR makes the simpliest thing special. It never feels better waking up next to the person you’d loved long enough, that time seems to freeze only staring to that face. Every morning counts, I remind myself.
Oh btw, one other thing, yeh Gina, it’s you (not sure if you’ll be reading). Just wanna say how special it is to meet you. A girl totally outside our circles, yet matchy at the instant. Sydney, Artoday, bits and threads that pull this Aussie squad together. Thanks for feeling DearPostman, telling us how you relate with LDR and creating new sparks with us. Feeling blessed.
PS. Meanwhile typing in the Usyd library right now, waiting for Z’s maths quiz to end. “Good luck” I said, I know you are going to nail it. Btw, why am I still teaching you the same Maths after 4 years (feeling funny)?
PPS. Have wanted to update Postcard, but ehm a bit too lazy. Will do it when photos are ready.
